AMAG Announces Building Control
From AMAG Technology:
AMAG Technology’s new optional Building Control module allows easy automatic control of building systems such as heating, ventilation, HVAC and lighting. By monitoring activity at access control readers and using movement sensors, the building control module determines whether an area is occupied or unoccupied. This enables the security management software to switch devices such as HVAC units on or off depending on occupancy.
The Building Control Module is available in AMAG’s Enterprise and Professional Edition security management systems.
“Utilizing the building control module saves energy, reduces operating costs and helps protect the environment,” said AMAG President, Bob Sawyer.
Reducing energy usage can lead to other benefits such as avoiding costly upgrades to HVAC or other systems to cope with increased demand.
Building Control features include:
* Provides easy automatic and manual control of building systems from the security management user interface.
* Uses the industry-standard BACnet communications protocol.
* Turns building systems on and off from the access control software graphical map feature.
* Reduces equipment costs.
* Uses a common user interface to reduce training costs and increase staff efficiency.
* Schedules commands to control building systems.
* Helps save energy, reduce costs and protect the environment.
