GE Announces New Multi-Technology Reader
GE Infrastructure, Security today announced the release of the new Transition Series multi-technology mullion card readers, which feature simultaneous compatibility with GE Proximity (125 KHz), Mifare® (ISO 14443A), and Vicinity (ISO 15693) credential technologies--all in one reader. With this remarkable technology combination, security administrators can now deploy the Transition reader into existing or new facilities--continue to serve existing card-carrying communities--while implementing a strategy that leverages the latest in security and smart card technology advancements.
Intelligent Supervision GE Transition readers provide superior value when performance matched with select GE access control platforms. Only GE offers 2-state and 4-state intelligent supervision that continuously monitors communication between the access control panel, reader at the door, and door contact and request-to-exit device equipment. There's also an internal tamper-alarm mechanism. This means the security staff is immediately notified if a reader is tampered with, a door is breached, or a circuit is cut or shorted. Tri-color LEDs and audible alerts indicate status, alarm and perimeter-tampering conditions.
The Transition T-500xx multi-technology readers are compatible with the following access control software, microcontrollers, and credentials.
Panels
Micro/5-PX and Micro/5-PXN, Micro/PX-2000 and Micro/PXN-2000, ACUXL (v 5.76) and ACURS (v 5.76), and M/RJ Box (Micro/Reader Junction Box
Access Control Software
Picture PerfectTM Editions 1.7 or higher, and microcontroller firmware 1.72 or higher Secure Perfect® Editions 5.0 or higher, and microcontroller firmware 5.0.02 or higher
Credentials*
Proximity (125 KHz): ProxLite, ISOProx, key fobs, and tags Mifare (ISO 14443A) Mifare Standard, Mifare Light, Mifare Ultra Light, key fobs, and tags Vicinity ISO 15693: Infineon My-D 2K-S, 2K-P, 10K-S, 10K-P, SLI-2, key fobs, and tags
*Legacy CASI-RUSCO Prox Perfect credentials, discontinued in January 2001, are not compatible with the Transition reader series.
Environment Optimization The GE Transition reader is well suited for both metal and non-metal installations. This ensures cardholders experience consistent read-range performance for all types of installations and climates.
Weather Proof / Lifetime Warranty The Transition reader is made of durable UV-resistant material that inhibits discoloration in all types of indoor and outdoor conditions including direct sunlight. The reader also features advanced electronics and circuitry, and are sealed for protection against inclement weather. Combine all this protection with a lifetime warranty, and any organization can confidently expect years of exemplary reader performance.
