Pittsburgh Area Security Firm Survives Carnegie Flooding, Relocates

InterTECH Security, recently recognized as the fastest growing service company in the area by the Pittsburgh Business Times, was among the hundreds of businesses in the region hit hard by hurricane-related flooding over the weekend. Everything of value on the first floor of the firm’s corporate headquarters was destroyed by the four feet of water that spilled in on Friday night.
By 10 o’clock Monday the systems integrator had relocated its main office to an unoccupied space in the CoManage building in Wexford and was back to business as usual, minus one convenience – direct access to landline telephones. Regional Manager, Peggy Tiderman explained, “We are currently relying on the voice mail system, which is luckily still operational at the flooded location in Carnegie. We’re burning up a lot of cellular minutes, but we have access to email and our core business systems. Scheduled service calls and installation are going along pretty much as planned.”
InterTECH CEO and Founder Ray Ramey was both disappointed and hopeful. “Obviously, the losses of the last few days have been difficult to accept. The cars, computers, equipment, these are things we would rather have kept. At the same time, none of our team was hurt, we’re back up and running, and the staff have really rallied together. It has been very inspirational to watch.”

InterTECH expects to have phone service diverted by the end of the week, and will inform its clients if they are to be affected in any way by this inconvenience.
