UL Changes Fire Alarm Re-Listing Schedule

According to Bosch Security Systems, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) have changed their timeline requirements on the manufacture and sale of fire alarms that meet only the 8th Edition of UL 864, rather than the 9th.

The original rollout plan stated that manufacturers and vendors were to comply with the 9th Edition's requirements by March 31st of 2006. Bosch states that the new plan is to extend the deadline by one year, to March 31st of 2007, allowing the UL more time to handle the heavy workload it created for itself with the change.

Bosch extends assurances that every effort will be made to comply with the 9th Edition as quickly as possible.
